LIVING WRITERS

Welcome to the "Living Writers" Tab

Hello, dear readers!

Welcome to "Escritoras Vivas"! This space is dedicated to promoting and celebrating the work of independent writers who are struggling daily to stand out in the world of literature. Here, you will find contemporary writing, the result of much effort, talent and dedication.

My goal is to celebrate the strength and creativity of women who make writing their act of resistance and expression.
Independent writing is a true ant's work, where each space conquered is immensely valued. There are many of us, and together, we are stronger and more visible! Literature written by independent women is vibrant, necessary and deserves to be seen, read and discovered by you!

I invite everyone to explore and unearth these rare gems of lively and powerful writing. Let yourself be surprised by stories that touch the soul and reflections that inspire. Each writer here is a unique voice that enriches the literary universe with her authenticity and passion.

With love,
Jerusa Furbino

Adriana C.A. Figueiredo

Adriana C. A. Figueiredo - JERUSA FURBINO

Hello! I'm Adriana...
I've been a book lover since I learned to read! And that's been a long time! Writing has always been a part of my life, but I actually became a writer when I started writing a motherhood blog together with the Instagram @estreiademae that encouraged me to write my first book "Estreia de Mãe", published in October 2021. Since then, my life has changed and creating stories has become my passion.

I am an administrator by training and I work as a banker.
I am married and have two beautiful children, Miguel and Rafael, who are the reason for my life.
Writing makes me feel alive, around here, everything becomes text, a way of immortalizing my soul over time.
If there is one thing I am certain of, it is the transformative power of books, as they are instruments for promoting the change we so desperately need to see in the world.

Where I met Dri: I met Dri at the first book fair held by Escribas de Minas, a collective that was formed from the historic photo that took place in Praça da Liberdade in 2022. Dri was exhibiting her books at a table next to mine, and we started talking and getting to know each other a little bit. Her sweet voice and manner captivated me with the sparkle in her eyes and passion for writing. After that day, we started following each other on Instagram and later exchanged books and also bought books from each other. We are always rooting for each other, talking and discussing our work; sharing the same dream is one of the most affectionate things we can do for each other! I read her book “A 365 passos do fim” and I can say that her story is very necessary to be discussed among young people. Meet Sabrina, the main character, and discover how this writer approached the topic of suicide in such a sincere and unique way.

Where I met Helena: I met Helena through Escribas de Minas, I think we were charmed by our open laughter! Then we started bumping into each other at fairs and places where poetry is breathed in, and we soon became friends. Writing has brought me more than personal fulfillment; it brings me friends, it gives me the opportunity to meet different women. For me, Helena is an example of multi-diversity and talent. How many women can fit inside this woman? I wonder every time I discover a side of her. Her writing is strong, it is powerful, it makes me reflect. I read her books, pausing, internalizing each sharp and naked word. Her writing enchants me, as does her smile! Come and be enchanted by the work and power of this writer!
